What is Lolita fashion?

Lolita is a fashion that originated in Harajuku, a district of Tokyo, Japan.

It's a street style that is known for its cute and elegant look.

It is inspired by the Rococo and Victorian eras, and also takes from modern fashion. Lolitas are recognized by their knee-length bell-shaped skirt, which is achieved with petticoats. Outfits are often covered in small details like lace, bows, and ruffles, all made from high-quality materials.

Lolita comes in many different styles, the three main categories being Sweet, Classic, and Gothic.

Each lolita will display their own unique personality through their outfit. Though we wear such a

fun, frilly fashion, we are all normal people! Many of us lead ordinary lives, we just choose to

decorate it with frills and ruffles!

Please be aware this is not a costume, but a recognized Japanese fashion.

Do I need a ticket for Disneyland Lolita Day?

DLD is not a private event, but simply a gathering inside the Disneyland Park.

Disneyland will be open to the public, and you will need a ticket or Annual Pass to get in.

Ticketing information can be found here on Disneyland's website:

https://disneyland.disney.go.com/tickets/

When is Disneyland Lolita Day held?

Disneyland Lolita Day is an annual event typically held in October, but recently we've been exploring other months to hold our event. We do an official date announcement every year to allow plenty of time for planning.

Where is Disneyland Lolita Day held?

We hold our event in the Disneyland Park in Anaheim, CA, USA. Currently we do not plan to expand

to Disney's California Adventure, as many of our guests purchase single day tickets to the park for

this event.

We also have no plans to expand our event outside of Disneyland Anaheim, but encourage other lolitas to create their own separate event at their home park.

Does DLD offer special rates, discounts, or group tickets?

No, we do not offer any of these because we are not associated with Disney, and because many of our attendees are Annual Passholders, we wouldn't be able to meet Disney's requirements for tickets.

How can we receive one of the annual DLD buttons?

Buttons for our event are purchased by Your Hosts, which means we are only able to purchase a small quantity of them. Our event is specifically celebrating lolita fashion. We ask that in order to receive a button you are present at our event, are dressed in lolita fashion, or an accompanying style such as ouji or kodona. Determination of outfits will be at the discretion of your hosts. We apologize, but we are unable to hand out buttons to those not dressed in lolita or an accompanying style. Buttons are also not for sale in any way, shape or form.

Please see the full button rules here.

What can and can't we wear to the event?

Lolita fashion is encouraged, but not required! You are also welcome to wear related Japanese fashion, such as Ouji or Kodona.

We've created a Disneyland Lolita Day Dress Code to help you decide what to wear! Please note the determination of who is let into the park is decided by Disney Cast Members. We cannot be held responsible if you are not able to gain entry to the parks.

Please keep in mind that our event is specifically celebrating lolita fashion. We ask that only attendees wearing lolita or an accompanying style receive a button.

Will Disney's "no costume" rule affect the event?

Lolita is a Japanese fashion style, and as such, is not a costume. We do suggest viewing our Galleries of Main Street Snaps from previous years to see what our guests have worn into the park, as well as reviewing our above Dress Code Guidelines.

Who can attend DLD? Are all ages welcome?

DLD is an inclusive event for anyone who wears Lolita (or associated) fashion! We are proud to be LGBTQIA+ friendly. Any age is welcome, and we've had attendees of all ages join in the fun of our event.

Where should we stay if we're visiting from out of town?

There are a few things we suggest for our of town attendees. If you have the option, stay with family or friends who are near the Resort. Alternatively, you can enjoy the ease of an on-property hotel, or one of the many good neighbor hotels within walking distance of the Resort. We suggest using Google to search the plethora of hotels surrounding and find one in your budget.

Is DLD affiliated with any other groups or entities?

No, we are just 3 girls who live in Southern California who put together this fun annual event. We are not affiliated with any of the local groups, associations, Facebook groups, brands, conventions, or otherwise. This is an independent event, and will stay as such. We do appreciate everyone's help in sharing our event though!
